Spalted Beech Bowl #1

This bowl didn’t turn out exactly as I had planned to but I think it came out even better.

The original design was supposed to have a resin band around the top edge with a small central bowl for use. I poured the resin into the bowl but I didn’t like the way it came out so I decided to remove the resin and increase the depth of the top ridge.

This timber has a beautiful look about it, the different coloured grains work really well and the whole piece is totally unique, no 2 will ever be the same because of the grain pattern and colours.
