This dish is a really nice example of the grain this type of wood offers. There is a lovely knot towards one of the sides.
It is a shallow dish with a really nice thick bottom, giving it a really nice weight.
The red opal is a really nice feature, it is more of a subtle feature, until you catch it in the light, then the red really pops with green notes coming through at certain angles.
The resin has gone a little spider webbed on the bottom of the dish where I applied the seal, this is usually due to moisture or cold conditions during the curing of the resin. This is not uncommon but does give a nice crackled ice effect in the right light.
This wood is originally from South-Central Africa and the grain speaks for itself.
This dish measures approx 195mm in diameter, the internal area measuring 165mm and a height of approx 50mm.
