A Lignum Vitae Lawn Bowls Bowl

This was a really interesting concept, could I turn a lawn bowl into an actual usable bowl, the first thing that i had to do was cut the top off and then drill the hole into the back. This was easier said than done and a couple of times the bowl flew off the lathe.

I didn’t want to change the way the bowl looked from the outside as I wanted it to retain the patina that is has gained from being used. All I did was sand the outside and re-seal it.

The overall finish of the bowl has come out really well and I love the fact it still looks like a lawn bowl.
